Bio

Dema Paxton Fofang is a writer, director, and Emmy Award winning documentary producer based in Los Angeles. 

Dema wrote and produced the documentary feature LOWNDES COUNTY AND THE ROAD TO BLACK POWER, spotlighting Alabama’s voting rights movement and the founding of the Black Panther Party. For his work on ‘Lowndes County’, Dema was awarded the 2023 Emmy Award for Outstanding Research in Documentary Film.

Dema wrote and directed the narrative short, THE SWIM INSTRUCTOR, an Official Selection at the Portland and Austin Film Festivals. 

Previously, Dema developed TV series for Viceland and documentaries for Anonymous Content.
